1st Class Orel Shalom Alon

Shalom Orel Alon, 23, was a young police officer from Kiryat Ata serving in the coordination of enforcement operations unit. Although he had only returned home early on October 7 after police activity in Jerusalem, he immediately headed south when the attack began. After fighting in Sderot, Orel entered Kibbutz Be’eri with fellow officers and was killed when their armored vehicles were ambushed by Hamas terrorists.
