Adir Gaory, 20, of Jerusalem, was a soldier in the elite Sayeret Matkal unit who had achieved his dream of joining the unit. Home on leave when the October 7 attack began, Adir immediately headed south and joined the battle in Kibbutz Re’im. He fought house to house for hours, helping rescue residents, before being ambushed and killed by a Hamas terrorist.
