Amitai Ben Tzvi

Amitai Ben Zvi, 80, was a longtime resident of Kibbutz Nir Oz who lived with Parkinson’s disease and was cared for at home by Jimmy Pacheco. He was a father whose children remained closely connected to him, including his daughter Hagar and sons Ido and Gilad. On October 7, Amitai and Jimmy sheltered together as terrorists entered the kibbutz. Amitai was murdered in his home and Jimmy was abducted to Gaza and later released. Months afterward, Amitai’s family created a memorial corner at the site of his home, which became a place for visitors to remember him and what happened in Nir Oz.
