Anan “Nan” Phetkaew

39 years old

Anan “Nan” Phetkaew, 39, came from Chaiyaphum province in northeastern Thailand and worked in agriculture at Kibbutz Alumim. He had traveled to Israel for work and was remembered as a central source of support for his family — a man whose labor far from home was tied to the people depending on him in Thailand. At Alumim, Anan lived among a community of Thai and Nepali agricultural workers. On October 7, their living quarters came under attack and Anan was killed along with other foreign workers. He is remembered as a hardworking man and a pillar of his family whose years in Israel were devoted to providing for those he loved.
