Anna “Ella” Misheyev
65 years old
Anna “Ella” Misheyev, 65, of Ofakim, was born in Grozny, Chechnya, and spent part of her childhood in Bukhara, Uzbekistan, in a close Jewish community. She married Shimon Misheyev in 1978 and together they raised three children. Ella was an energetic businesswoman who sold quality clothing, traveling to Turkey to choose merchandise herself, and continued working in the trade for much of her life. When growing danger threatened Jews in the Caucasus, the family fled, leaving their property behind, and eventually rebuilt their lives in Israel. A mother and grandmother, Ella was remembered through the family she nurtured and the resilience with which she rebuilt her life.
