Ariel Bilia, 28, of Ofakim, was a husband, father and son who put his family’s safety before his own. When terrorists entered his family’s home on October 7, Ariel helped his wife, their two children and other relatives escape through an upstairs window onto a neighboring roof. He was the last to try to climb out. After getting the others to safety, Ariel was shot and killed as he followed them through the window. His family survived by hiding behind solar panels until police rescued them hours later. Ariel is remembered for the courage and selflessness he showed in protecting the people he loved.
