Ariel Refael Guri, 30, of Ofakim, was an electrical engineering student, a husband and a devoted member of a close family. He and his younger brother Roi, a Golani soldier, were together at their parents’ home for Simhat Torah when they heard gunfire in the city. Armed with Ariel’s firearm, the brothers went out together to confront the terrorists and defend their neighbors. Both were killed in the fighting. Ariel is remembered by his wife Hadar, his parents Zehava and Avinadav, and his sisters Hodaya and Shira. Ariel and Roi were buried side by side in Ofakim.
