Asaf Edberg, 23, of Hadera, was a carefree surfer who loved the sea and tried to enjoy every moment of life. He served as a cook in the IDF, where he met his girlfriend, Stav Barazani, and after their service the couple moved in together and planned to marry. Asaf worked at a restaurant on Manao Neurim beach so he could spend much of his free time surfing, and shortly before October 7 he and Stav traveled to Sri Lanka to surf together. Friends remembered his humor and easygoing spirit, and his personal motto was to live in the moment. Asaf and Stav were both murdered after fleeing the Supernova festival.
