Chief Superintendent Avi Amar was a devoted husband, father of six and police commander who loved nature and horseback riding. When the October 7 attack began, he headed directly to the fighting, battling terrorists in Sderot and Kfar Aza before continuing to Kibbutz Be’eri. A final photograph captured Avi comforting an overwhelmed IDF soldier shortly before he was killed while fighting Hamas terrorists in Be’eri.
