Avi Buzaglo, 26, of Ofakim, was a Rahat police detective, devoted son and brother who had dreamed of becoming a police officer. When he heard automatic gunfire outside his family home on October 7, Avi grabbed his weapon and rushed out to defend his city. He joined an off-duty soldier and an armed civilian in a fierce firefight with Hamas terrorists and was killed while protecting Ofakim.
