Ayala, 73, helped raise her great-niece and great-nephew, twins Liel and Yannai Hetzroni, after complications during their birth left their mother disabled. Family remembered Ayala as loving, accepting and deeply devoted to the twins. On October 7, terrorists took Ayala, Liel and Yannai to another home in Kibbutz Be’eri where residents were being held hostage. All three were killed during the attack.
