Bar Rozenshtein, 20, of Rishon Lezion, was a Golani soldier, computer whiz and devoted sports fan who deliberately chose combat service. On October 7, Bar and his comrades were patrolling near Gaza when Hamas invaded. Their armored jeep came under gunfire and RPG attack, but they continued toward Kibbutz Kissufim to protect civilians. Bar was shot and killed while fighting the attackers.
