Bar Sivan, 33, was an officer and deputy team commander in the Israel Police’s elite Yamam counter-terrorism unit. A talented judoka, volunteer firefighter and devoted husband, he was remembered for his huge heart and contagious smile. On October 7, Bar rushed south and fought Hamas gunmen at the Sha’ar Hanegev Junction until he was killed alongside fellow Yamam officers.
