Chana Kritzman, 88, was a beloved educator and book lover who helped establish Kibbutz Be’eri’s library and spent decades sharing her love of reading with generations of children. On October 7, she and her husband hid in their safe room for more than 24 hours. While being evacuated, Hamas terrorists opened fire and gravely wounded Chana. She fought for two weeks before dying from her wounds on October 21.
