Daniel Goltman, 24, of Rishon Lezion, was remembered as naturally happy, supportive and the kind of friend everyone wished to have. He had served in the Israeli Navy as a medic and was preparing to begin studying structural engineering. Daniel met Daniela “Dana” Petrenko in Eilat in 2021, and friends said the couple had been inseparable ever since. On October 7, they attended the Nova festival together. As they tried to escape, Dana suffered a panic attack and froze; Daniel protected her with his body. They were murdered together and found embracing one another.
