Daniel Moshe Danino, 21, of Haifa, was a Golani soldier remembered as a natural leader. He was just weeks away from completing his mandatory service and had already chosen to remain in the army. When Hamas terrorists stormed the Erez Crossing on October 7, Daniel and the heavily outnumbered soldiers there fought back against the invading gunmen. He was killed in the firefight.
