Modi’in Illit
David Mittelman, 20, of Modi’in Illit, was a Golani soldier who had left the Haredi community and was remembered as someone who bridged different worlds. When dozens of Hamas terrorists attacked the Kissufim outpost on October 7, David and fellow soldier Noam Ben Mucha fought side by side at the gate. They helped stop the first wave of attackers before both were killed defending the base.
