Dipesh Raj Bist

Dipesh Raj Bist, 24, was a Nepali agriculture student from Lekum in Darchula who came to Israel through a “Learn and Earn” program only weeks before October 7. After his father died of cancer, Dipesh became a central support for his family. His sister remembered him as brilliant and studious; he called his mother every evening and hoped to earn money to help his younger brother attend medical school. Dipesh dreamed of bringing the knowledge and experience he gained abroad back to Nepal and eventually serving his country. He was murdered at Kibbutz Alumim on October 7.
