Doron Meir, 58, was a member of Kibbutz Nirim and a devoted father whose daughter Mor deeply admired him. On October 7, Doron decided to leave the family’s safe room to help defend his kibbutz. Mor, described by her school community as a “daddy’s girl,” insisted that he would not go alone despite the family’s pleas, and went with him. Father and daughter were killed together when terrorists who had already entered their home opened fire. Doron is remembered through his devotion to his family and his decision to step forward to protect the community he called home.
