Eliyahu “Eliko” Raichenstein, 75, of Kibbutz Kfar Aza, was a gifted papier-mâché artist, avid cyclist and devoted gardener who embraced retirement with creativity and enthusiasm. Friends remembered him as honest, kind, energetic and deeply proud of the garden he tended. On October 7, Hamas terrorists invaded Kfar Aza and shot Eliko dead inside his home. His wife, Hanita, survived by hiding in their reinforced room for 30 hours until she was rescued. Eliko is remembered by his wife, four children, grandchildren, sister and the community he loved.
