Gideon Fauker
80 years old
Kibbutz Nir Oz
Gideon Fauker, 80, of Kibbutz Nir Oz was an enthusiastic winemaker whose small kibbutz winery became a beloved personal project. Together with partners and fellow members of the Eshkol Wine Club, he cultivated a passion for local wine and the agricultural life of the region. After Gideon was murdered on October 7, friends and winemakers returned to the damaged community to care for the 2023 vintage he had helped create so that the wine would not be lost. The bottles from that harvest became a fitting memorial to Gideon and the life he built in Nir Oz.
