Gil Buyum, 55, of Kibbutz Be’eri, was a husband, father and member of the kibbutz’s local security team. When Hamas terrorists invaded on October 7, Gil and his 22-year-old son, Inbar, set out to help defend their community. Both were killed while trying to repel the attack. Gil was later recognized as a fallen reserve soldier. He and Inbar are remembered together as a father and son who went out to protect their home and neighbors.
