Haimi Benaim, 56, of Netiv HaAsara, grew up in Ashkelon as one of five siblings and was remembered as cheerful, optimistic, generous and deeply connected to nature. After studying at the Kfar Silver agricultural youth village, he served as a Golani reconnaissance fighter. Haimi then turned his lifelong love of plants, flowers and gardens into a career in landscape architecture, becoming a talented and highly regarded professional. His sister said many beautiful gardens exist because of him and recalled his personal motto: “Enjoy the journey.” Haimi married Merav Berger, built a home in Netiv HaAsara and together they raised three children, Noya, Gaia and Bar-Yohai.
