Izhar Peled, 61, was a longtime police officer who retired in 2020 as an assistant commissioner after serving in senior Border Police positions, including commander of its West Bank division. He was remembered for his professionalism, long-term vision, love of people and devotion to his family and country. On October 7, Hamas terrorists murdered Izhar in his Kibbutz Kfar Aza home together with his wife Gila and their son Daniel. The three were buried side by side.
