Karin Journo, 24, was a French-Israeli airport worker who refused to let a broken leg and protective boot keep her from dancing with friends at Supernova. As the October 7 attack unfolded, she sent her family a final message telling them how much she loved them because she feared she would not return home. Karin was killed while sheltering at the festival.
In the days following the attack, Karin’s family waited desperately for news. She was later confirmed to have been murdered at the Nova festival. Her family learned that she had been identified through DNA from three teeth that remained. The devastating circumstances of her identification reflect the profound loss endured by her family, who continue to honor Karin for the joyful, vibrant life she lived.
