Liel Itah, 22, of Anatot, was remembered by his father, Kobi, as courageous and selfless. During the attack on the Supernova festival, Liel was seen running from the terrorists and trying to draw them away from others. His father said Liel told two young women to hide while he continued running to divert the attackers. Liel was murdered near the festival grounds. In his memory, his family placed a memorial marked with an eagle — like the tattoo Liel wore — and planted trees there so that life would grow again in the place where so many young lives were lost.
