Lior Rudaeff, 61, was a longtime Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak resident, mechanic, volunteer medic and ambulance driver who had served on the kibbutz security team for decades. When the community came under attack on October 7, Lior immediately went out to help defend it. He was murdered near his home and his body was taken to Gaza. After more than two years, his remains were returned to Israel in November 2025.
Warrant officer (Res.) Lior Rudaeff, 61, of Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak - Deputy Military Security Coordinator of the community security squad, Border Protection Corps. Killed in combat in defense of his kibbutz during the terrorist attack of 7 October 2023, his body was abducted by Hamas terrorists to the Gaza Strip. He was held in Hamas captivity until his return to Israel following the October 2025 hostage return agreement, on 8 November 2025.
