Manny, 73, was a longtime Kibbutz Be’eri resident, husband, father and grandfather who loved sports, the ocean and people. He had been a professional soccer player in the 1970s, served in the Yom Kippur War and later held many roles in Be’eri, including work at its printing house and store, as chief economist and as a lifeguard. His family remembered him as dependable, supportive and someone who spread light wherever he went.
Manny Goddard, 73, of Kibbutz Be’eri - Murdered by Hamas terrorists in his home in Kibbutz Be’eri during the October 7, 2023, terror attack, his body was taken into captivity in the Gaza Strip. He was held hostage by the terrorists for over two years, until he was returned to Israel in accordance with the October 2025 agreement, on 13 November 2025
