Maria Yahengilov, 60, of Ofakim, was a wife, mother and grandmother whose family was together in their home on October 7. She was there with her husband Yiftah, their daughters and grandson when terrorists entered their building. Although publicly available memorial records provide little about Maria’s work, interests or earlier life, they show the family bonds at the heart of her story. Maria and Yiftah were murdered near their apartment, while their daughters protected themselves and the child inside. She is remembered alongside her husband and through the children and grandchild who survived them.
