Chief Superintendent Martin Kozmichekis was a veteran police commander remembered as a quiet, fearless warrior. He had just finished an overnight shift and returned home in Sderot when the October 7 attack began. Hearing gunfire, Martin immediately went back to the Sderot police station and joined the battle against Hamas terrorists who had stormed the building. He was killed there while fighting to defend the city.
