Matan Abergil, 19, was a Golani soldier from Hermesh who was fighting Hamas terrorists near Kibbutz Nir Am on October 7. When a grenade was thrown into the armored vehicle carrying Matan and six comrades, he threw himself over his friends to absorb the blast. His final act saved the lives of the soldiers around him.
