Matan “Kido” Elmalem was a renowned DJ and one of the most influential figures in Israel’s trance music scene. Growing up in Dimona, he loved music from childhood and became a sought-after DJ while still a teenager. Under the name DJ Kido, he performed around the world, including in Europe, India, South America and Japan, and was remembered as a beloved friend who encouraged other artists. On October 7, Matan had just finished what would become his final set at the Supernova festival when the Hamas attack began. He was initially listed as missing before friends searching the festival grounds found his body.
