Mercedes Oria Amar, 33, grew up in Kiryat Ekron and was remembered as warm, sociable and deeply devoted to her close-knit family. After high school she completed two years of national service in a hospital. She loved beauty and cosmetics, trained in lashes, brows, nails and facial treatments, and dreamed of continuing her studies and opening her own beauty business. Mercedes also loved cooking and hosting friends, especially preparing Moroccan food, and was connected to Jewish tradition and faith. Friends remembered her joy, optimism, generosity and ability to see the good in everyone.
