Michael Ben Hamo, 21, of Rehovot, was a Golani squad commander remembered for his leadership and courage. When Hamas invaded on October 7, Michael and his soldiers were sent toward Kibbutz Kissufim to push back the attackers and protect the community and nearby army post. They fought multiple terrorist cells under heavy fire, buying time for additional troops to arrive. Michael was killed in the battle just two days before completing his mandatory service.
