Michael Lizmi, 28, of Ofakim, was a Beersheba police detective, husband and father whose family called him “the best father in the world.” When he heard gunfire outside on October 7, Michael left the reinforced room where his wife, baby and mother were sheltering, grabbed his pistol and ran outside in his pajamas to confront the Hamas invasion. He was killed while defending his hometown.
