Tiberias
Moshe Ben Porat of Tiberias was a devoted husband, father of three daughters and grandfather who worked as a cook and kosher supervisor at an assisted-living facility. Cooking was also one of his great joys at home, especially Persian food, and friends remembered him as humble, generous, cheerful and always ready to help. He was known for preparing the Shabbat kiddush spread at his synagogue and making sure there was enough for everyone. On October 7, Moshe was visiting Ofakim for his grandson’s brit mila and was murdered while walking to synagogue.
