Neta Baram, 20, of Hadera, was a surveillance balloon operator in the Border Defense Corps’s 414th unit and an animal lover remembered as the “salt of the earth.” When Hamas terrorists overran the Nahal Oz outpost on October 7, Neta and four fellow balloon operators fought back despite being heavily outnumbered. His body was found four days later with those of his comrades inside a bomb shelter.
