Nir Nikita Popov, 25, from Ashdod, was a former Givati combat soldier who worked as a security guard for Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi while studying software coding. He loved Tottenham soccer, travel and sneakers, and with his longtime girlfriend Ravit created a small business making sneaker-shaped scented candles. Nir had planned to propose to Ravit in London. On October 7, Hamas terrorists murdered him while he was driving to work at the minister’s home near Netivot.
