Osher Shmaya, 19, of Beersheba, was a Gaza Division soldier who was home on leave when the October 7 attack began. Determined to return to his base near Re’im, he set out with his father, Kobi, who drove him south. Hamas terrorists opened fire on their car and murdered them both. They were later found together in an embrace.
