Osher Simha Barzilay, 19, of Mazkeret Batya, was a Gaza Division soldier, talented musician and Magen David Adom volunteer who dreamed of becoming a brain surgeon. When Hamas overran the Nahal Oz outpost on October 7, Osher sheltered in the war room with fellow soldiers. Her last message to her sister asked her to pray for her. A week later, her family was informed that she had been killed.
