Rafi Svirsky, 71, lived next door to his former wife Orit in Kibbutz Be’eri even after the couple divorced. Family and friends remembered his wisdom, quiet manner and shy smile, and both he and Orit loved the beauty and tranquility of the kibbutz. On October 7, Hamas terrorists murdered Rafi in his home. Their son Itay, who was visiting for Simhat Torah, was abducted to Gaza and later murdered in captivity.
