Rajan Phulara

Rajan Phulara, 23, was an agricultural graduate from Nepal who came to Israel for a yearlong “learn and earn” internship at Kibbutz Alumim. He hoped to take what he learned back home, pass Nepal’s civil-service exam and use his career to help his family. On October 7, Rajan and other Nepali interns sought shelter when the rocket sirens sounded. Hamas terrorists attacked their shelter with grenades and gunfire, murdering Rajan and several of his friends. His body was returned to Nepal for burial.
