Rajesh Kumar Swarnakar

Rajesh Kumar Swarnakar, 25, came from Madhuwan in Nepal’s Sunsari district and was one of his family’s great hopes for the future. An agricultural student, he traveled to Israel through a “Learn and Earn” program to study modern farming while working and supporting his ambitions. He had arrived only weeks before October 7 and was living and working at Kibbutz Alumim with other Nepali students. Friends and relatives remembered the students as young people pursuing education and opportunity far from home. Rajesh was killed with nine fellow Nepali agricultural students during the attack on Alumim. His family’s hopes, and the future he was working toward, remain central to his remembrance.
