Roi “Pepe” Popplewell, 53, was born and raised in Kibbutz Nirim and held dual British-Israeli citizenship through his late father. A dedicated farmer and talented artist, he had a special connection with animals and was remembered as a true kibbutznik with laughter in his eyes. On October 7, Hamas terrorists shot and murdered Roi behind his home as he left to reach his mother, Channah Peri. Channah and Roi’s brother Nadav were abducted; Channah was later released, while Nadav was murdered in captivity.
