Kibbutz Be’eri

Ronnie Levy, 80, of Kibbutz Be’eri, was a designer, builder, athlete and devoted community member whose talents touched nearly every corner of the kibbutz. Born in Algeria, he immigrated to Israel at 12 and quickly learned Hebrew in Be’eri. He served as a paratrooper and parachuting instructor, later worked as an electrician, studied interior and product design, taught design and helped shape buildings and public spaces throughout the kibbutz. Ronnie loved sports, especially cycling; for each birthday he rode his new age in kilometers, completing 80 kilometers shortly before October 7. He was a warm husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather remembered for creativity, generosity and constant involvement in community life.
