Said “David” Moshe, 75, was a beloved farmer, husband, father of four and grandfather of twelve who spent more than five decades building Kibbutz Nir Oz. Born in Basra, Iraq, he immigrated to Israel as a child, later served in the Nahal Paratroopers and fought in the Yom Kippur War. Agriculture and the land were his way of life; for years he managed Nir Oz’s field crops. His family remembered his humor, riddles, love of sports and sweets, wisdom, generosity and devotion to his wife Adina. He was murdered defending their safe-room door on October 7.
