Shalev Baranes, 20, of Kfar Baruch, was a Golani soldier who loved his motorcycle and was remembered for his energy and courage. When Hamas terrorists overran the Paga outpost on October 7, Shalev and other soldiers initially barricaded themselves inside the dining hall. As attackers tried to set it on fire, Shalev and three comrades went outside to fight face-to-face and help others escape. He was killed in the battle.
