Shalev Dagan, 20, of Kiryat Yam, was a Golani soldier and twin brother who was remembered as devoted, determined and deeply loved. Early on October 7, Shalev and three comrades were on a routine patrol near the Gaza border when they became among the first soldiers to encounter the Hamas invasion. They fought for more than an hour at several locations, delaying attackers before Shalev was killed in battle.
