Shir Hana Georgy
22 years old
Rishon LeZion
Shir Hana Georgy, 22, of Rishon LeZion, was a joyful and optimistic young woman whose family and friends remembered her for her radiant smile, contagious laugh and love of life. She loved music, dancing, singing, sunsets by the sea and spending time with the people closest to her.
Born on May 16, 2001, Shir grew up in Rishon LeZion as the eldest daughter of Ronen and Galit and an older sister to Ro’i and Yehonatan. She was bright, sensitive and deeply connected to her family and friends. After completing her military service, she traveled through South America and later returned to work, where she was promoted to a team leader. She hoped to study film and was interested in writing, production and directing.
On October 7, Shir attended the Nova music festival near Kibbutz Re’im with friends. As the attack unfolded, she sought shelter and contacted her father around 7:30 a.m. to tell him where she was. About an hour later, she spoke with her family again, expressing her love for them. It would be their final conversation.
For days, Shir’s family searched and waited for news. A short video from inside the shelter showed her alive that morning. Her family was later informed that Shir had been murdered.
Shir is remembered as someone who brought light to the people around her—a young woman who loved deeply, celebrated life and found beauty in the world. Her family and friends remember her smile, her laughter and the joy she carried wherever she went.
May her memory forever be a blessing.
