Shiraz Brodash, 23, of Ramot Meir, was an athlete and personal trainer who had competed nationally as a 100-meter sprinter and won a national youth championship in 2018. Friends and family remembered her as extraordinarily optimistic, generous and full of joy — someone who cooked, trained and gave to others from the heart. She was deeply in love with her boyfriend, Yamam officer Avshalom Peretz, and had excitedly shared their plans for the future. On October 7, Avshalom was called to fight and was taking Shiraz home to safety when they were both killed near the Sha’ar Hanegev Junction.
